The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, in partnership with Larry and Rhonda Sheakley, is opening a new facility and we’re excited to be a part of this new venture! BGCGC is a leading regional organization that provides at-risk youth the tools and support needed to secure a successful future. The Larry and Rhonda Sheakley Boys & Girls Club Grand Opening Event will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

Through a generous contribution from Larry and Rhonda Sheakley and other donors, the new 18,000 square foot building will have the ability to serve more than 160 kids each day and pay for operating costs, scholarships and an endowment. This participation continues the Sheakley’s involvement in community efforts to diminish childhood poverty that nearly 54 percent of Cincinnati youth experience.

“There’ll be a multi-purpose gym that can be used for indoor batting, basketball, volleyball. We’ll have multiple classrooms, a learning center equipped with a smart board, laptops, wifi throughout the building. There’ll be an outside community garden where the kids will be able to grow vegetables and provide their own sustenance,” said Brent Seelmeyer, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati.

The Boys & Girls Club has set out to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Since 1939, they have been changing lives and building great futures for kids who need a safe and positive place to spend their time.
