Building on a long history of community outreach

Working to advance the dignity and well-being of children, youth, and families in need, Lighthouse Youth and Family Services is a nationally recognized provider of services that help those in crisis achieve self-sufficiency. Sheakley is proud to continue its support of Lighthouse and their efforts.

Through activities like a company-wide split the pot raffle, the sale of jeans day cards, and employee payroll contributions, Sheakley was able to raise almost $20,000 to be donated for general operating funds at the Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center and the Lighthouse Sheakley Center for Youth. Among many other items, employees also contributed sheets, housewares, board games, books, pantry basics, and clothing items to support the work of Lighthouse.

General operations funding consistently ranks among the most difficult to acquire funding types for nonprofit organizations. Sheakley’s contributions to Lighthouse help support transportation needs of clients, assist with the purchase of prescription medications, normalcy activities like baseball games and trips to the zoo, and supports the purchase of materials and cost of street outreach programs.

You can help support the mission of Lighthouse Youth and Family Services by donating or volunteering. Below are some of the items on Lighthouse’s wish list and volunteer opportunities:

Both centers:

  • Undergarments (men’s and women’s- variety of sizes)
  • Socks (men’s and women’s- variety of sizes)
  • Hygiene products (combs, brushes, hair ties)

Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center:

  • Red’s tickets
  • Cincinnati zoo tickets
  • Gift cards (movies, bowling, skating)
