Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation recently approved a funding increase from $5M to $15M for the safety grant programs. The approved increase is part of the Billion Back plan established by BWC and Governor Kasich.
Below are changes to the Safety Intervention Grants that went into effect on July 1st:
- BWC is matching every employer dollar with three dollars. Previously, matching was 2-to-1.
- A number of safety intervention products on BWC’s moratorium list for the grants have been restored.
- Employers are eligible to receive a maximum of $40,000 for each eligibility cycle. In the past, employers were only awarded one grant.
