Employers who have the majority of their business in Ohio but do have some business/employees out of state now have another option to provide workers’ compensation coverage.  Although the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) typically provides coverage for employees working temporarily outside of Ohio, the BWC also recognizes there can be issues when the injured worker files a claim in a different state.

Employers must have the majority of their business in the state of Ohio to be eligible for this optional coverage.  Employers should apply to the BWC if interested in this coverage option.  USIS and Zurich were selected through a Request for Proposal to provide the coverage outside of Ohio.
