The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) has issued a statement citing they plan to appeal the decision of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Richard McMonagle. The ruling awarded Ohio employers $860 million due to claims that the state insurance fund overcharged Ohio employers for nearly a decade. The BWC claims that their actions were lawful and they believe restitution is not warranted. According to the BWC, money collected has been spent appropriately providing Ohio employers with resources to prevent workplace accidents and to provide care for Ohio injured workers.
